Colorado had its windiest April on record, as well. We finally finally got some rain this week, after close to zero in April. Tough spring, but we soldier on! xo
Even down yonder here in KC we've had one weird ass spring... wet and cool all of April. But heads up! It's going to be 90 here on Monday (par for the course in this area). Personally can't wait for the swamp in my backyard to dry out.
Have you check out the Merlin app for your phone? It's addictive for birdwatching. Can't recommend it enough.
Yeah, that sound ID is the best! I was in Arkansas and IDed a Summer Tanager and a Philadelphia Vireo, both which I could *see* but not that well. Yay Merlin!
I agree with Jodi! I get SO excited when I see a new On the Drift newsletter hit my inbox. I wait to read it until a time I can savor it. (This time on a day off work, with a spicy margarita, just inside a garage door patio.) 💚
You are such a gifted writer - I find myself mesmerized by your words. We need a novel, love. 💕

Oh, I've got the Merlin and eBirds apps. Love the new sound identification feature!
